NBA Draft Lottery Selection Show: Where Conspiracies Happen
Just in case you forgot, tonight we will find out the exact order of the 2009 NBA Draft Lottery. I have seen articles online already saying if the Knicks get the top pick don’t blow it on Ricky Rubio and conspiracy theories from small market teams.
Given the odds, the Sacramento Kings “should” win the lottery, and gain the rights to decide who will be the first pick overall in the draft.
However, just like last year, strange things tend to happen at the NBA Draft Lottery, and that’s why it has grown to be something basketball fans pay attention to and actually enjoy watching.
The suspense and drama that the networks try to build up as they show the anxious faces of NBA executives, players, and in some cases, fans, is priceless.
Here are the teams, and the odds of each of them landing the top pick tonight:
1. Sacramento Kings 25%
2. Washington Wizards 17.8 %
3. LA Clippers 17.7%
4. OKC Thunder 11.9%
5. Minnesota Timberwolves 7.6%
6. Memphis Grizzlies 7.5%
7. Golden State Warriors 4.3%
8. New York Knicks 2.8%
9. Toronto Raptors 1.7%
10. Milwaukee Bucks 1.1%
11. New Jersey Nets 0.8%
12. Charlotte Bobcats 0.7%
13. Indiana Pacers 0.6%
14. Phoenix Suns 0.5%
I believe one of the teams in the bottom five will beat the odds and jump into the top three. My guy is telling me the Bucks for some reason, so that will be my prediction. I don’t know if they will get the top pick, but that’s my fearless (and perhaps wrong) pick on the team that will be the big winner tonight.
