Aston Villa's Nicklas Helenius Gets Pantsed and Misses a Shot Attempt

Sometimes there's "crazy" and sometimes there's "so crazy it just might work."

This had to be what Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen was thinking when he decided to pants Nicklas Helenius during the Aston Villa-Tottenham Capital One Cup tie today. Vertonghen's defense, although unconventional, forced Helenius to miss on a breakaway attempt and somehow, no foul was called on the play.

Vertonghen's stellar defense helped Tottenham shut out Aston Villa 4-0.

Hat tip to Deadspin for the find.
