Why I'm a Cleveland Browns Fan

Let me start by saying when you are a Cleveland Browns fan you are one for life, and also let me say that we have the best fans in football.

Growing up in a little town, you really do not have much to do.  But there has always been something for me to do watch, relive, analyze, admire, etc., about my Cleveland Browns.

As a kid I used to run through the bushes in my backyard make-believing that I was Kevin Mack or Ernest Byner.  I bet everyone thought I was going to say Jim Brown. Even though I think he is one of the best running backs to ever play the game, I grew up watching Byner and Mack.

My neighbors would actually call my parents and tell them I needed to get help.  Not the case, I was just a kid wanting to play for his favorite football team.  Is there anything wrong with that?

I was such a fan that I even painted my room orange and brown in honor of my team. 

I have been through the tough times and the good times with the Browns.  There are people who ask me "why are you a Cleveland Browns fan? They lose all the time and they have never won a Super Bowl."

And I tell them, because I am a true fan.  Yes the Browns have had some down years but they are a team on the rise, contrary to what most people might think.  Of course the majority of the people I say that to tell me I am a better fan than they are. 

What do I tell them? Yes I am!

One thing I would love to get off of my chest is about how the Browns do not have any Super Bowl rings.  And how everyone I meet say they are not a championship organization.

The Browns have not won any Super Bowls,  I will give that to you. 

However, prior to the Super Bowl beginning in 1967, the Browns won four championships in the All American Football Conference (1946-1949) and four championships in the NFL (1950, 1954, 1955, 1964).

Just because you change the name of what the championship game is called, don't say that the Browns have not won any championships.  If you wanna get technical about it, we have won four NFL Championships.  What are Super Bowls?  If you don't know—NFL Championships.

I am just defending my team like any other true should if they feel that their team has been wronged in the past.

I know this sounds more like a rant than an article, but I just felt I had to share my feelings about a team that has gotten me through some tough times in my life. That might sound a little crazy but they have.

I have a great deal of respect for the men of the Cleveland Browns.  They go out eight games a year, every Sunday during football season, and leave everything out there on the field to entertain the crowds in their home stadium.

That is why I am a Cleveland Browns fan.
