CLT20: Trinidad & Tobago vs. Brisbane Heat Scorecard, Recap and More

Outstanding bowling from Trinidad and Tobago saw them home to a 25-run victory in their opening Champions League T20 match against Australian opponents Brisbane Heat.

Trinidad and Tobago batted first, but were cut back by the Heat, who bowled with discipline and took wickets at just the right moments.

Of the batsmen, only Denesh Ramdin managed to get past 20, his score of 48 holding the innings together. 

When he did fall, the Caribbean side were 114-7, and Alister McDermott returned to mop up the tail, bagging four wickets.

A couple of sixes from Samuel Badree propped the total up to 135-9, but it looked underweight ahead of the Heat innings.

But Brisbane struggled to get going in their own innings. By halfway, they had laboured to 47-2, meaning that they needed almost nine an over in the final stretch, with tricky spinner Sunil Narine still to come.

Joe Burns threatened to cut loose with a couple of maximums, but departed for 45 from 43 balls, and the required run rate clambered up further still as the Heat lost wickets.

And the squeeze continued, with opening bowler Ravi Rampaul returning to finish with outstanding figures of 4-14 as Brisbane were all out for 110.
