Eliminate BYOB at your own risk
People in Maryland apparently don’t take too kindly to being asked to pay a premium for their beer.
In what became one of the running subplots of Saturday’s Preakness Stakes in Baltimore, the Maryland Jockey Club had announced that patrons to the Pimlico Infield would no longer be allowed to bring in their own beer as they had been allowed to do in previous years. As these (very much non-HD) comparison photos demonstrate, no booze apparently means no people.

The official attendance at the event was down 35,000 from last year. Apparently the ZZ Top concert they put on during the races wasn’t enough to bring these guys back this year. Shocking, isn’t it?
