CLT20: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Faisalabad Wolves Scorecard, Recap & More

Sunrisers Hyderabad booked their spot in the CLT20 tournament proper with a convincing seven-wicket win over the Faisalabad Wolves, who are now out of the running.

The result also ensures that the Otago Volts qualify after they beat Kandurata Maroons earlier in the day, who are eliminated as well.

Choosing to field first, the Sunrisers were disciplined with the ball, with Dale Steyn and Ishant Sharma giving nothing away, despite struggling to take wickets. Spin kept up the pressure, with Amit Mishra's 4-0-13-1 particularly miserly.

For the second time in a row, Misbah-ul-Haq top-scored for the Wolves, his 56 from 40 balls including a four and five sixes, but again the total of 127 for five was simply too low.

Shikhar Dhawan scored his second half-century of the tournament in the chase, his 59 from 50 balls breaking the back of the target.

Overseas players Darren Sammy and JP Duminy were in the middle when the winning runs came, with two and a half overs to spare.

The final round-robin game against the Volts will determine which side goes into which group, but it is a job well done for the Sunrisers, who have suggested they are in good touch going into the event for the first time.
