CLT20: Otago Volts vs. Faisalabad Wolves Scorecard, Recap and More from Game 1

It was first blood to the Otago Volts as they swatted aside the Faisalabad Wolves by eight wickets in Mohali.

It was a disjointed batting effort from the Pakistan champions, who relied on an innings of 46 from 34 balls from Misbah-ul-Haq to prop their score up to 139 for eight from their 20 overs. 

But the Volts' team effort, with Ian Butler, James McMillan and Jimmy Neesham all chipping in with two wickets, kept the score to a defendable amount.

In response with the bat Brendon McCullum was the star. He came in almost immediately when the New Zealanders lost Neil Broom to the second ball of the innings but played an assured innings of 83 not out from just 65 balls to get his side home.

Hamish Rutherford also got the innings off to a flyer with a 12-ball 25 including three sixes, while Derek de Boorder played the anchor role to McCullum with an unbeaten 30.

The Volts are back in action against the Kandurata Maroons on September 18 in the round robin qualifying event, and in a healthy position.

Faisalabad Wolves, however, have plenty to do going into their next match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on the same day.
