Zach Johnson Wins Again In San Antonio, Texas

Zach Johnson parlayed a round three 60 into a PGA victory at the Valero Open this weekend in San Antonio, Texas And since Zach won the Texas Open last year as well, this is the first successful title defense of the year in the PGA Tour this season.

Next week, the tour travels to the Byron Nelson Classic at the TPC Four Seasons-Las Colinas Course in Irving, Texas.

This is a tournament many players attend out of respect for the great Byron Nelson.

I will pick Phil Mickelson, to head my team this week in fantasy golf on Yahoo as my A player.

My B players will be Charley Hoffman, who is having a very steady season, and Brian Gay, who has won on tour this year. My C player will be Scott Verplank.

On the bench in case of trouble will be Mike Weir, Rory Sabbatini, Davis Love III, and Charlie Wi.

One notable entry not attending this week is Tiger Woods.

One wonders if the knee is 100 percent and not bothering him. I would have thought Tiger would play in this one, but there must be a reason for him not.

A huge jump in the standings in fantasy golf is in store for me as I picked Zach Johnson on my team this week at the Valero Open. Nice going Zach, as I am now ahead of three out of the four experts in Yahoo Fantasy Golf.


Joke Of the Day

One particular Saturday morning, Jeffrey was playing a round of golf by himself when all of a sudden the ghost of his old business partner appeared before him. " Ben, is that you?" the astonished Jeffrey asked.

" Yes, Jeffrey, it's me, your old partner. I've been in Heaven since I died two years ago.

" Gosh, Ben. What's it like up there?"

"Well, there are some good things and some bad things about Heaven. The golf courses are magnificent. Rolling fairways, lush greens, beautiful clubhouses, and you never have to wait."

Jeffrey scratched his head. " All that sounds great. What could possibly be bad about it?"

The ghost looked at Jeffrey. "You and I have a tee time at 8:00 AM tomorrow.
