Premier League Week 4 Predictions: Manchester United and Teams Set to Win Big

Jun 8, 2018

EPL Week 4 has arrived with another exciting slate of football. New names inhabit new places with the summer transfer deadline now history, so a little variety is on the menu as well.

The table is slowly starting to take shape, with Liverpool on top thanks to a perfect record after three games.

After that, it's a free-for-all.

Three points are on the line in what appears to be the most competitive lineup of games yet. That being said, here are three matchups for which we can easily predict the outcome.

Manchester City over Stoke City

This is a tough one to start with, but the winner is easy to see.

Both Manchester City and Stoke City have two victories, with a critical third on the line here at Britannia Stadium, where the two sides have played to 1-1 draws the past four matches.

The solution here is simple—the Potters simply don't have enough defense to slow down Man City, whose eight goals are the most of any team coming into the weekend.

Alvaro Negredo is the star of the match courtesy of his offensive prowess, and he'll lead Man City to a pivotal victory.

Prediction: Manchester City 3, Stoke City 0

As expected, David Moyes and Marouane Fellaini are back together, and not a second too late with Manchester United off to a laughable start with only one victory.

The team embarrassed Swansea, 4-1, then proceeded to have mediocre outings against Chelsea and Liverpool. The good news is the presence of a midfielder like Fellaini gives the Red Devils another offensive weapon to turn the tide of battle.

Oh, the other great news? Crystal Palace is miserable on the road and is in a hole of its own at 1-2. The contest at Old Trafford should serve as a nice initiation for the Moyes-Fellaini reunion as Manchester United notches three points.

Then the Red Devils can start worrying about their upcoming match with Man City.

Prediction: Manchester United 2, Crystal Palace 0

Tottenham over Norwich City

Tottenham is having struggles in the standings as well after defeating Crystal Palace and Swansea, then turning around and losing to Arsenal.

Tottenham will have to find the answers against a tough Norwich City club seeking its second win to hang around in the standings. Norwich City have had an easy go of it so far and been a bit of a disappointment, but even more reason to watch for the upset.

Fortunately a repeat of last year, which saw Norwich take a 2-1 win against Tottenham for the first time since 1993, isn't in the cards. Tottenham are getting key pieces to the puzzle back (Emmanuel Adebayor is set to make his return and train with the reserves for the Spurs) at the right time and should have little issue moving past Norwich.

Prediction: Tottenham 1, Norwich City 0
