After Beating Mexico, Is US Soccer Ready for Deep World Cup Run?

It's time for Americans to brush up on their Portuguese and prepare their skimpiest swimwear for the Copacabana: The USMNT are heading to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup!

A very tense night at Columbus Crew Stadium ended in a 2-0 victory to Jurgen Klinsmann's side, thanks to goals from Eddie Johnson and Landon Donovan.

Mexico—coming off the back of Friday's home defeat to Honduras that resulted in the sacking of manager Jose Manuel "Chepo" de la Torre—applied plenty of pressure but were unable to penetrate the U.S. defence and inevitably succumbed to the counterattack.

So, what does this mean for the U.S. at next summer's tournament? Can they make a big impact on the world's biggest stage in Brazil? We think the forecast is pretty positive.

Check out our video and leave your thoughts on Team USA's World Cup potential below.
