Ten burning questions for Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck

Zachary HabnerMay 15, 2009

Not many people can say they have had a herniated disk.  Even fewer can say they came back to play quarterback in the NFL.  One man will try to do just that this season.

Given the opportunity to interview the franchise quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks, here are the ten questions I would ask.

1.  What do you feel was your defining moment while playing for Seattle?  Was it leading them to their first playoff victory in 21 years?  The Super Bowl?  Or was it a different moment?

2.  Recently, Shaun Alexander has told us how he felt about how his situation ended in Seattle.  Do you feel as if he was treated unfairly, or that it was just time for a change of scenery?

3.  Your team went out and signed T.J. Houshmandzadeh to help shore up the WR core.  What does he bring that is different to this offense?

4.  What do you feel was the one thing that Mike Holmgren said or taught you that you will remember the rest of your career?  What is your favorite memory of coach Holmgren?

5.  Tell us how you felt when you were benched in favor of Trent Dilfer.  Did you feel like you weren’t cut out to play in Seattle or did it just fuel your fire to prove the fans wrong?

6.  The whole country heard your proclamation in Green Bay.  What did that loss feel like as a player knowing that your season was over in the blink of an eye?

7.  What was it like in the huddle during that 2005 season?  How was that season different from any other season?

8.  What was it like to throw the ball during that Monday Night Football game in 2007? In which Mike Holmgren abandoned the run and proclaimed “we are going to throw the ball.”

9.  Tell me about Super Bowl media day in Detroit.  What was the strangest thing you can remember from that day?  What was the strangest question you got asked that day?

10.  What are the plans after football?  Do you follow your brother’s path and end up on NFL Live?  Or do you follow your Sister-in-Law’s path and go on day time TV?

Hopefully, that last question gets a classic Matt Hasselbeck response.
