Jackie Battle's 2013 Fantasy Outlook as Chris Johnson's Potential Handcuff
The Tennessee Titans will be looking to run the ball much more in 2013, and there is serious hype building around power-running halfback Jackie Battle as the complement to speedster Chris Johnson and former New York Jets starter Shonn Greene.
After Greene went down with a knee injury Sunday, per Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, Battle became the clear No. 2 option.
While Johnson is still the unquestioned No. 1 running back in Tennessee, Battle stole goal-line carries from Greene and looked to be the more powerful of the two backups. His short-yardage touchdown on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers proved his effectiveness in the red zone.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Neither Greene nor Battle is worthy of a waiver-wire pickup, however.
The problem for fantasy owners will be the lack of consistency in the amount of carries the veteran should expect. Battle proved during his time in Kansas City and San Diego that he can be a great change-of-pace back, but he is strictly a situational player with the Titans.
That inconsistency in attempts will drive fantasy owners crazy. With eight carries for 21 yards and a touchdown, don't buy into the hype just yet.
Battle will take a few goal-line carries for the team, but his ability to pass-protect will get him on the field during important passing downs. The problem is that he has never been known as a pass-catching back, though.
Unless you are in a super deep league, there is no reason to waste a roster spot picking up Battle as a handcuff to Johnson. Add both Battle and Greene to your Watch List.
