Oakland Raiders:the Cannon and The Sharpshooter

jonny naranjoMay 15, 2009

As the season rolls around one might wonder who the starters are gonna be. Cable hasnt anounced who will be the starters for next season, and although some players are considered starters dont be surprised if they get beat out by lesser known players. The following is a list of who should be the starters for next season.also if theres more than one name on a slot its because those spots can go either way. (These are just my opinion feel free to diagree)

Quarterback: 1st string- russell/garcia.

these to quarterbacks shared similar stats the passed season and even so most analysts see garcia as a better player due soley to his past experience. i want to see them share time to see what they can do.how do you think a package would play like if you had russell starting when were back(for deep passes) and garcia for the redzone aproach(short passes.) russell deep passes garcia short maybe??

Runningback: 1st string- fargas/macfadden (bush??)

I hate to see just one back running the football for the majority of the carries because theyre all verry good, in theyre own way. Fargas is just a any down runner, avg on paper but on a game hell try hard on every run, should be used when aproaching the red zone. Mcfadden is definetley the speed back, and should be used to get huge chunks were the defence isnt exactly expecting a run, like at the raiders 20.michael bush is kind of like a hybrid, but most poeple see him as a goal line back, although he could be good at the goal line he can also be used in most situations as well.

Wide reciever: 1st string- darrius heyward-bey

If cable plans to play him right away he'll probabaly be the starter, and why not the raiders drafted him with high expectations. I dont know why the analysts hate whenever the raiders draft picks have speed, who wouldnt want speed at reciever.(just putting it out there)

2nd string-chaz schillens, johnnie lee higgins, javon walker.

schillins and johnnie have pretty equal skill and although walker seems to be on the decline he still has value.

                        3rd string-sammie parker, louis murphey ?

sammie parker has looked good in the raiders minicamp and if he plays like he practiced he might win a higher spot. murphey is considered a steal at the fourth round and might be a good reciever at this spot, also see him running short rounds here.

more on the way -GO radierS!!
