Is former developmental star Shaul Guerrero on the verge of coming back to WWE?
Guerrero, a third-generation Diva known as Raquel Diaz during her tenure, parted ways with WWE last year. Her mother, Vickie Guerrero, noted on her Twitter that the star has asked for her release due to "personal reasons."
One year on, it appears the Diva is looking to come back.
In an in-depth interview with Sam Roberts recently, Vickie mentioned her daughter was about to report to WWE's new performance center in Orlando.
And over at PWInsider, Mike Johnson notes:
Eddie and Vickie Guerrero's daughter Shaul is looking to get back into WWE and is in the process of moving to Orlando, FL, where the Performance Center is located. Shaul was part of The Ascension group in WWE developmental awhile back but chose to leave the system to pursue her education.
So, what to make of the star's potential comeback?
Well, in some respects, Shaul is very well suited to wrestling. She's pretty, charismatic and, during her reign as FCW Divas champion, showed more presence than most women in developmental. Her star power shone like a beacon on FCW television. She's definitely got something.
However, her in-ring skills leave a lot to be desired. Which is putting it mildly. Even by the admittedly low standards of WWE Divas division, she's just not very good.
Similar to her mother, Shaul may be better utilized as a manager and authority figure. Her work in FCW as a vain, obnoxious heel seeking to rid the world of ugly people was splendid.
Of course, FCW never had a great track record of training people to begin with and it's possible she may fare better in the new performance center environment. We'll have to wait and see.
