Full Preview for WWE Main Event Featuring the Wyatt Family and Damien Sandow

The Doctor Chris MuellerJun 5, 2018

Main Event will feature three matches this week, and none of them are even remotely related to any of the current storylines.

Main Event can often be a nice break from the usual Raw and SmackDown feuds. It has the danger of becoming the next WWE Superstars by doing that, but Main Event has produced a number of very entertaining matches that have kept the quality of the show up.

Main Event used to tout having a main event-level match every week, but that concept has been quietly dropped, which is evident by the fact that Wednesday's show doesn't feature a single former World champion.

Let's take a look at the matches that are scheduled for the show, spoiler-free.

Fandango vs. Justin Gabriel

The first match of the night is supposed to be the "main event" match, but this match features two people who are definitely not know for being top Superstars.

Justin Gabriel and Fandango are talented, though. This match could definitely surprise people if they are given the right amount of time and they have good chemistry.

We have never really seen Justin Gabriel tested in long matches, and seeing what he can do with Fandango in a 15-20 minute match would be interesting.

Fandango is still new to some WWE fans, so giving him a chance to wrestle a longer match on Main Event to show what he is capable of would be just as beneficial as it would be for Wade Barrett.

Hopefully the match lives up to the potential it has.

Damien Sandow vs. R-Truth

This would have made more sense as the match that opened the show, but it doesn't matter. This should still be a good match.

Truth and Sandow are both very capable athletes who will produce a great mid-show match.

The Wyatt Family vs. Prime Time Players

PTP's continuing rise to the top of the tag team division has been great to see lately, but this match might find the two on the receiving end of a loss.

The Wyatts are a red-hot angle right now, and even if WWE is looking to push PTP, they will not be put over The Wyatt family at this point.

The Wyatts will likely continue to feud with Kane once he returns, so this is likely a filler match and won't lead to a feud until The Wyatts start going for the tag titles.

Wednesday's lineup looks like it could be a good show. Hopefully we don't get disappointed.

What match are you looking forward to?
