Joe's 411: B/R Pro-Wrestling News

Joe Burgett May 14, 2009

Welcome to another installment of Joe's 411: B/R Pro-Wrestling News. THE place for wrestling news across the net today. As we all know, I hate to keep you waiting. So here we go.

SmackDown vs. RAW 2010 video game

In a recent voice over for the SvR 10 video game there were many names released that would be on it.

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

Mostly, they had the entrance music of the superstars to obviously let you know who they were, and chants they had to do for them. And many of other things they do for voice overs.

Hey guys, I have never done a voice over. So I don't know all they do in them.

Anyway, you obviously have an idea of who will be on the game when you record chants for that certain superstar/diva. Here is a list of those names that will definitely be on the game.

Ricky Steamboat, possibly Bruiser Brody (”Bruise em up, Bruiser, Beat em up” was the chant so this is assumed), Evan Bourne, Vladimir Kozlov, Trish Stratus, Ted DiBiase Sr., Dusty Rhodes, Christian, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, Santina Marella, Goldust, The Brian Kendrick, Primo, Carlito, Randy Orton, MVP, Maryse, Big Show, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, John Cena, Edge, Chris Jericho, The Great Khali, Mike Knox, and Ezekiel Jackson.

Of course more will be announced as time passes on for the game. I mean you still have Triple H, Undertaker, Kane, and the other Legacy members in Ted DiBiase Jr. and Cody Rhodes. As we all know they should be in the game.

But what was so interesting was that "Macho Man" Randy Savage was announced for the game. We all know how Vince McMahon feels about Savage, and has basically written him off of everything involving the WWE and even WCW (since he does own every aspect of the company)

Savage's new DVD is set to be coming out, so it is possible that Vince is doing this to help promote that more. Savage was actually taken off the Legends of Wrestlemania video game by Vince. So with that said, seeing him on the SvR 2010 is very surprising.

I mean it is the biggest game the WWE has ever had, and the biggest selling game when it comes out. So, it is very surprising to see him on it in saying all of that. Especially with the fact that we know how much Vince despises him.

People believe it will happen because one of the chants they had to record was “Let’s go Macho, let’s go."

The Brian Kendrick's Tag Team Partner

If you saw RAW this past week, The Brian Kendrick beat Carlito.  After the match, he grabbed a mic and said that he was going to find himself a tag team partner and he was coming for the Undisputed Tag Titles.

Now, is has been found out who that tag team partner will be. It is former FCW World Champion Joe Hennig. The son of Curt Hennig, aka Mr. Perfect, is set to be called up soon by the WWE.

Since he has wonderful wrestling ability and is a big man, he would be a good addition to TBK. The fact is, Kendrick lost Ezekiel Jackson in the draft to ECW. He moved to RAW himself.

The WWE wanted to give him a big guy, and he will have that in Hennig. He is 6"3 and around 250 pounds. So with that said, of course the WWE's plan worked out.

Now, as mentioned he is a former FCW World Champion. However, he had to drop the belt because of injury. He has yet to fully recover from it and make his way back to FCW storylines. I am not sure if he has even wrestled there.

It is possible that they do not want to bring him back to FCW, and just bring him to RAW to prevent him from being involved in storylines on FCW or even getting hurt again.

I feel that, if he has not wrestled yet since then, that he needs to go there to loosen up and lose ring rust before going to RAW.

So with that said, we may not see Hennig on RAW right away. But soon of course. Possibly in about three to four weeks.

Now, he may make an appearance like what happened with Ted DiBiase, jr. He won't wrestle, but will come out and talk some trash. Maybe even attack Carlito or Primo. And possibly wrestle the next week or so. Sort of like what happened on ECW with DH Smith.

Now, we all know Hennig is a third-generation supertstar because of being Curt Hennig's son and Larry "The Ax" Hennig's grandson. With that said, seeing him in Legacy would not be a surprise.

I believe they are testing how well Hennig will do as a heel with TBK, and if he is good they will end the tag team and he will move on to Legacy.

Randy Orton has said he wants a fourth member, but many thought it would be DH Smith. Since it appears that the WWE has changed plans and are going to bring the New Hart Foundation to ECW then Smith will not be in Legacy.

With that said, a fourth spot is open. And they do need a big enforcer, like that of Batista who was in Evolution.

Hennig fits, so why not?

Ezekiel Jackson News

Ezekiel Jackson has not yet appeared on ECW since he was drafted there. Why?

Because of the simple fact that he is not ready to be a singles star in the WWE yet. If you remember, he was basically the big enforcer for The Brian Kendrick.

So, they have sent him down for more development in FCW. The WWE loves the fact that they see potential in him, and the love his look too.

So obviously when he returns to ECW, he will be vastly improved and possibly show us a Batista-like Superstar.

Lets just hope he has better wrestling skills.

Triple H's Return

As many know Triple H is out with an "injury", of course it is storylines to help sell his loss to Orton. But, he could be back sooner than expected.

It is certain he will be at house shows after Judgment Day. And those house shows are directly after the PPV. So we could see him on RAW the next night.

WWE creative had the idea to bring Triple H back at Judgment Day to cost Batista the WWE Title because of him virtually costing him the WWE Title at Backlash and for the punt to the head by Orton.

He wouldn't attack him, but do as Batista did to him and distract him enough to lose the WWE Title match to Orton.

It may be an accident angle where he is down there to help Batista and accidentally costs him the match.

That is not certain to happen obviously, as it is just an idea being passed around. But, what is certain is that Triple H will be back very soon.

Censorship on the WWE Wrestlemania DVD

As we all know, when you pick up the Wrestlemania DVD, the Hall of Fame ceremony is included in the DVD.

They had to remove the Bill Watts comments that Bruno Sammartino was huge "before steroids were invented". They also cut out all of Kid Rock's performance, except for the Diva's entrance of course.

They are all over botches in the ring, and things like that obviously. So, if you ordered Wrestlemania on PPV, you may see some of the things you saw on the PPV cut out on the DVD.

As the PPVs for the WWE are LIVE, they cannot control many things fans and wrestlers can do during shows.

With that said, much of that will be taken out and will be exactly the way the WWE wants it of course.

WWE signs Britney Spears....or her body double anyway

The Sun reports that UK model and dancer Rachael Carr is training to be a WWE Diva at WWE's FCW. Carr has done body double work in the past for Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Kylie Minogue.

Carr told The Sun that she met WWE recruiter Lou Maggio, she then went to an audition and now here she is. Rachael is currently training at FCW for five days a month.

She said, you train between six months and two years before you're ready to be called up.

Carr, who has had two boob jobs and some work done on her rear, says she never watched pro wrestling before getting the job, but now it's her dream to become a WWE Diva.

Well of course it is her dream now, I mean let's not want to be a recording artist or anything like that. I mean you worked for enough of them, right?

Maybe even work in movies as a stunt women, that would be fun too, huh? I mean it is better than working for pop stars. And really, you would think the women that they listed would be more involved in there shows and wouldn't need a stunt woman.

I mean Brittney lip synchs all of her songs during concerts because of all the dancing, with that said I don't see why a body double is needed then.

Unless she is jumping out of a the building she is performing in or something. Which many ask her to do anyway.

But I digress.

Obviously since she has not wrestled before, I have not seen her in action. However, I did manage to see a pic of her online. And, Thank You WWE! is all I have to say about her.

I hope she turns out to be really good, because this would be a cool story and a possible gimmick for her. Maybe the female Jeff Hardy or something.

We will have to see, hopefully we will see her in FCW shows soon so we can see if she is any good.

Kevin Nash Interview now looks bad for him

Kevin Nash did an interview about John Cena and Bobby Lashley and performance enhancing drugs a little while back. He was asked what he thought about them being on the juice. Here is what he had to say:

During the interview, Nash is asked if he believes John Cena and Bobby Lashley are on any performance-enhancing drugs. Nash feels Cena is completely clean, but he can’t honestly say the same about Lashley.

“I don’t think Cena’s on anything. I really don’t, because I’ve seen Cena when he came in and he was the Prototype, and he was a big jacked up dude. I think Cena is an absolutely physically gifted guy.

“I don’t know anything about Lashley. Lashley just looks very synthetic to me. That’s just my opinion and I could be completely wrong, and if I am, I apologize to him and his family. No, I don’t apologize to him and his family. God bless him! (laughs).

"If he’s clean, Jesus man, you’re absolutely phenomenal, a physical specimen. But you look at him. Lashley, it would be hard to believe a guy with that muscle structure is clean.”

This was brought up obviously because of Lashley being brought to TNA. Since both Nash and Lashley work there now, this may be something TNA has to address.

They may have already addressed it, but you have to agree with Nash here right?

Lashley is way to big to be totally clean. With a guy like Cena, it is a bit different. He looks like a guy who worked out all his life if you will. And may have not needed to take anything.

With Lashley, he looks like a guy that works out no doubt. But, he looks like a guy who took something that would help him get bigger. Has it been proven? No.

But, he was big before he went to WWE. So he may have been clean when he arrived there, and stayed clean all the way up until now.

But before, there is no way a guy like that could be that big. Now, he has lost a lot of weight and has toned up more so than when he was in the WWE.

He is a bit smaller now, if that is possible. But of course he is still jacked. The MMA training is helping that obviously.

Wrestling History Note

This week in 1999 WWF RAW had the most-watched wrestling match in history.

On May 10, 1999 The Undertaker, Triple H, and Shane McMahon took on Steve Austin, The Rock, and Vince McMahon in a six-man tag, with Shawn Michaels as the referee. It scored a staggering 9.2 cable rating. The overall rating for the entire show was 8.1.

However this week's episode of RAW did a 3.3 rating. A meager stat in comparison.

This rating was big for the WWE of course, but it was when the Monday Night Wars were still going on. While the WWE seemed to be winning the War during these days, it was still huge for them to get such a massive rating.

It is one of the biggest in not just wrestling history, but TV history too.

The rating at this time was a normal 6 to 7.0 rating. It was pretty easy to see these turn outs because of WWF being the best out of the organizations.

WCW would get a good turn out too, a normal rating for them was around the same in 5 to 6. People must have went back and forth between channels.

Now, a normal rating and what is good is around what they got this week in a 3.3, which if this was seen then would have been a complete failure.

Some of the best wrestling was during this time, and many say that if Monday Night Wars happened again we would see better wrestling in WWE and the organization that went against them.

Competition is when you see the best out of people, so with that said you have to agree with that.

Many want to see TNA take on WWE. While that would be good, TNA would fail miserably if they did. They are not ready right now to do so if you ask me.

TNA is a good two to three years away from being at the level of the WWE. While they are improving, and have some of the best wrestlers in the world on their roster. They do not have the popularity the WWE has, and need to learn a few things.

Their marketing is not great

They do not have any "Superstars" were as WWE has big names that are popular in and out of the ring.

If you ask someone who John Cena is, they would know him from his movies and WWE. If you ask someone who Samoa Joe is, they will say, who?

That is the difference between the two right now.

And right now, many of their top guys were made by the WWE. Some made it in WCW of course, but many of them got popular through WWE. So when they can make their own big time wrestlers without getting old, tired ones.

That is when they will be at the level of the WWE and ready for a Monday Night War.

That is all for the 411 today, make sure to look for the next Saturday along with the Weekly Mailbag.
