Alastair Cook Rested as England Name ODI Squad for Ireland and Australia
England selectors have named two separate 14-man squads for the end-of-summer one-day internationals, which see them take on Ireland in a one-off encounter before a five-match ODI series with Australia.
Sky Sports News had the details:
Captain Alastair Cook is one of a number of high-profile players to miss out on both squads as selectors choose to rest some of England's Ashes heroes.

Eoin Morgan will captain both squads during Cook's absence, while James Anderson, Ian Bell, Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann are also given time to recover after their 3-0 series win over Australia.
Unsurprisingly, the squad named for the five-match series with Australia is significantly stronger than the 14 named for the trip to Dublin.
Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott and Joe Root will all sit out the Ireland match before returning to resume battle with the Aussies, starting September 6.
With many of England's more experienced players missing, the ODI series in particular will be an opportunity for some new names to show what they can do.
Chris Jordan and Jamie Overton have both received their first senior call-ups, while Michael Carberry, Gary Ballance and Boyd Rankin will all be making their ODI debuts if picked to play.
Of those players, all-rounder Jordan is one to watch after a fantastic season with the ball for Sussex in county cricket, taking 51 wickets—the second-highest tally among all bowlers this term.
An eye must also be kept on Yorkshire batsman Ballance, who could well play his way onto the plane for the Ashes tour this winter. He is currently averaging 60.50 at Headingley.
