Madden 25 Review: Most Exciting Features for Hardcore Gamers
The latest release in the Madden series is critiqued every year, but the 25th edition of the game is being released with rave reviews about the fundamental changes and upgrades to Madden 25.
All of the following gameplay additions and adjustments will have even the most fickle hardcore gamers enjoying the latest Madden.

The most appealing addition to this year’s game is the "Run Free" system, which incorporates the new precision-modifier ball-carrier mechanic. With the ability to control a ball-carrier better than ever before, the elusive runners in the game take on a whole new importance.
Not only are gamers rewarded for hitting the right moves in the right situations, but the new Run Free system also punishes players for cutting or juking too soon. The addition of runners losing speed as they run long distances is another realistic twist added this year.
The biggest difference is how the teams will execute their game plans. If your favorite squad has a running quarterback like Cam Newton, Robert Griffin III or Colin Kaepernick, expect the play-calling to rely heavily on their abilities in the game.
San Francisco runs a pistol offense in the NFL and will run the same style in the game.
Infinity Engine 2
The addition of the Infinity Engine to last year’s edition of the Madden franchise was a huge upgrade in the gameplay, but the improvements to the system for Madden 25 will maximize the capabilities of the physics engine.
As great as the upgrades will be, the "Force Impact System" is the more intriguing addition.
The system boasts serious improvements in “hit stick, truck, dive tackle and more,” via EA Sports, but all gamers need to hear is how much more impactful the contact of hits is in the game.
There are few portions of playing Madden more enjoyable than laying a big hit on a loved one.
Whether it is on offense as a ball-carrier going through the defenders or as a defender devastating a ball-carrier with a bone-rattling hit, the emphasis on hard-nosed contact will make this a must-own for hardcore gamers.
The Return of the Fantasy Draft
While this point could be contested by some Madden traditionalists, there are few portions of this year’s game that are as exciting as the return of the fantasy-draft option in the "Connected Careers" modes.
Whether it’s online against a bunch of strangers or at home with your family and friends, enjoying the process of building a team from the ground up was not an option in 2012. After a resounding call for the return of the mode this year, EA Sports has answered emphatically.
Add in the fact that players can also create their own rosters or import NCAA Football 14 draft classes, and this will be the most comprehensive live draft in video game history.
It’s just good to have it back.
