Antoine Bethea in the Spotlight

To give Colts’ fans a better look at their veteran free-safety, here are some questions I have prepared for #41:

• Now that you’ve had a full season to digest winning the Super Bowl your rookie year, and making the Pro Bowl the year after; how would you describe your time in the NFL from this point in your career?

• What would you label your role as with the Colts and what areas do you want to improve on within that role?

• Have you made any goals entering the ’09 season from a physical or statistical standpoint? 

• How would you describe what it’s like to line-up next to Bob Sanders, and what he brings to the defense when he is healthy?

• What can you tell us about Melvin Bullitt’s performance in 2008 filling in as a valuable reserve?

• Are you excited for a chance to play a full season with Sanders, Marlin Jackson, and Kelvin Hayden all healthy?  Tell us a little about the relationship between you four players.

• What do you do to relax in the midst of a long NFL season?

• Tony Dungy has been a big fan of yours since drafting you out of Howard University.  How would you put his presence and your relationship with him into words?  What will change the most without him?

• Dungy has been quoted saying he believes you can be “that ball-skills safety that can have eight or nine picks in a year”; how fair is that assessment? 

• When the year is over, and you have to weigh your options – Would you say getting an extension to continue your career in Indianapolis is a great interest of yours?

• You have a long career ahead of you in the NFL.  But when it’s time to put down the pads, what else would you like to try your hand in?
