Arsenal Transfer News: Arsene Wenger Must Continue to Look for Players

Kyle NewportJun 8, 2018

Arsenal bounced back after a loss to Aston Villa in the Premier League opener last week, but Arsene Wenger must find players to sign before the Sept. 2 deadline.

Fans were calling for the boss to make moves after a shocking 3-1 loss to Aston Villa last weekend. With money available, fans want big moves to be made.

Fulham hosted Arsenal on Saturday, and the Gunners were able to bounce back with a 3-1 victory over the Cottagers, with game recap courtesy of ESPNFC.com.

The most recent match may have settled the fans down a little bit, but they still want big moves to be made. However, Wenger hasn't been able to come up with anything.

Jim Daly of the Mirror reported on Saturday that one Arsenal target will not be leaving his current club. Real Madrid's Karim Benzema plans to stay with the team and is looking for a new deal.

Wenger already lost out on Liverpool's Luis Suarez and Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain, with the latter now a member of Napoli

Alan Oliver of the Mirror reported that Yohan Cabaye was looking forward to the opportunity of joining Arsenal and is refusing to play for Newcastle after they rejected the Gunners' bid.

It appears the Gunners have found a player who wants to play for them, but Cabaye's club is unwilling to sell him.

Arsenal have gotten early goals from Olivier Giroud in each of their first two EPL matches. Lukas Podolski added a pair of goals in the second match, but they need more than just those two players to make an impact.

The Gunners need to make a move after injuries have taken their toll. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is out until November after leaving with an injury in the opener. Mikel Arteta (thigh) and Abou Diaby (ACL) are already out with injuries.

Injuries are putting Arsenal's depth to the test, so making a move is necessary.

Wenger has not been able to find the right player yet. He now has just over a week to make a move, so he must be aggressive.

The victory over Fulham calmed the fans for a few hours, but they know that the Gunners need to make a move if they are going to challenge Manchester United and others for the EPL title.

After the club missed out on another target, Wenger must continue to look for players and make at least one signing in order to improve Arsenal's chances in the EPL.
