Manchester United Transfer News: Red Devils Will Benefit from David Moyes' Plan

Kyle NewportJun 8, 2018

Manchester United have not made a big move yet, but manager David Moyes has a plan that will end up helping his club's chances at winning the English Premier League again.

On Friday, Adam Marshall and Gemma Thompson of ManUtd.com reported the Moyes' quotes on his transfer plans:

"

I have an idea of where I'd like to strengthen and what we need to do. But we won't do it because people like you tell us we should be signing players. We'll do it because we think it's the right thing to do.

If the right players are available then great, but, if not, the first thing we'll do is encourage our own young players in the squad to do as well as they did last year.

There is a possibility [we won't sign anybody] but the plan is we bring in one or two if we can.

Moyes is looking to make his first big move since taking over for Sir Alex Ferguson on July 1, but he won't be pressured into making a move just to make one.

Fans want to see the boss make a big splash to increase the Red Devils' chances at repeating as EPL champions.

The club is still looking to improve at midfield. United are still looking for a replacement for Paul Scholes after he retired at the end of last season.

Although Moyes is looking to add to his current squad, he understands that he does not need to make a move. This squad did win the title last season and should be one of the best again this season.

United have the stars on the roster to do well without a big addition, but fans want a new face to come in and help the squad hold off challengers. Manchester City, Chelsea and others are looking to make a run at the title, so an addition could fill one of the team's biggest needs.

Moyes isn't going to rush to make a move, but he should be aggressive in making one that could fill a need, such as a midfielder.

In the meantime, young players can develop, and he could decide to go with his current squad if nothing presents itself on the market.

Fans are anxious to see what Moyes' first move will be. Sir Alex Ferguson won 13 titles with United, so the fans are waiting to see if Moyes can maintain that level of success.

A possible target could be Marouane Fellaini. Dominic King and Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail reported that Fellaini wants to leave Everton for United, but Everton don't want to sell to their former manager.

Fellaini would be a good addition at midfield for United. Moyes will have to figure out some way to convince Everton to sell the midfielder, which is going to be tough.

Whether Fellaini is on Moyes' list is unknown, but the manager is targeting some players and will try to make a move before the Sept. 2 deadline.

If he decides to stick with his current squad, the Red Devils are talented enough to make a run at another title. A big signing would certainly increase the club's chances.

Moyes has a strategy for the final days leading up to the deadline, and United will benefit from their manager's plan.
