Rugby Canada vs USA World Cup Qualifier Live Blog: Scoring, Updates and Analysis

Jeff HullAug 24, 2013

USA Rugby battles Canada on Saturday in a 2015 Rugby World Cup qualifier, live from Toronto's BMO Field, and we here at Bleacher Report are going to be with you every step of the way.

After the first half of this series last weekend in Charleston, two questions beg our attention.

First, can the USA Eagles recover some semblance of the form they showed against Ireland and challenge for a win in Canada?

Second, will this second match prove to be a more entertaining spectacle that will hold the attention of the North American sports audience?

Given the calls for domestic professional rugby made by Rugby Canada's Brian Burke on Thursday, the latter question may well be regarded as the most important.

As for which team will win the series, that question seems the easiest to answer at the moment.

With an 18-point lead heading into the home stretch, Canada are in a dominant position. At this point, it looks all but certain that the Canadians will be advancing to Pool D of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, while the Americans will most likely be playing off against Uruguay for the right to play in Pool B.

But that, as they say, is why we play the games.

It's the 18th-ranked USA Eagles against the 14th-ranked Canadians, with North American bragging rights and a place in the Rugby World Cup on the line.

So sit back, relax and grab a cold beverage.

We'll have all of the updates and match analysis you need, right here, with Bleacher Report.
