Manchester United Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of August 19
The transfer window is close to an end, and Manchester United has yet to sign a big name. In contrast, a couple of its brightest stars have been linked to other clubs.
Some names are still in the wind, while others have just vanished. In the meantime, David Moyes first game in charge of the Red Devils in the Premier League resulted in a 4-1 victory over Swansea.
Is the roster good enough, or should Moyes bring someone in?

Samuel Eto'o

Metro understands that Manchester United are interested in signing Samuel Eto'o, currently playing for Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
However, Chelsea is also interested in the Cameroonian striker. Sky Sports reports that when asked about the matter, Jose Mourinho said:
"We have a plan B and a plan C! Don't ask me names, because it's difficult to speak about players from other clubs.
"
Javier Hernandez

The Independent suggested that if Gareth Bale moves to Old Trafford, Javier Hernandez would be part of the deal, meaning he would be en route to Tottenham.
Chicharito's agent, Eduardo Hernandez (not related), told Mexican newspaper El Universal that the only real possibility has come from Valencia. The Spanish club was ready to offer the striker a deal that included a regular starting position.
However, Javier was not interested as he wants to establish himself with United.
The Express understands that Italian club Roma may try to lure Hernandez into Serie A if their efforts to sign Demba Ba are not enough.
Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney may have played in the season-opener, but Chelsea is still interested in him. ESPN reckons that the Blues are ready to offer £40 million for Rooney.
Arsenal is another Premier League club interested in his services. The Mirror says that with Luis Suarez out of reach, so the "Gunners" want to crash Jose Mourinho's party and take their chances in the Rooney saga.
On Tuesday, Sky Sports reported that Rooney is still Mourinho's priority and that "The Blues" will fight for the England international until the end.
Marouane Fellaini

An old acquaintance of David Moyes has made it to the Manchester United transfer talk. Marouane Fellaini arrived in Everton in 2008 and quickly became an undisputed starter.
The Belgium international has not talked about the situation, but The Daily Mail reports that Everton boss Roberto Martinez will not look the other way if United make an offer.
"There is never a manager or a player who is bigger than the football club, the recruitment department at Everton and every department at the club is ready to cope with any situation that is thrown at us.
"
After the speculations, Everton announced that they have rejected a bid for Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini.
Roberto Martinez added that United's pursuit for Baines and Fellaini is a waist of time, according to The Mirror.
The Red Devils were hoping to get both footballers for £28 million.
Geoffrey Kondogbia

The Mirror believes that David Moyes has set his eyes on Geoffrey Kondogbia. However, the French midfielder will not leave Sevilla if he is going to be on the bench.

Roma is still looking to add Nani to its roster. According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the club is ready to bid £6.9 million for the Portuguese.
The interest of the "Giallorossi" awakened as Tottenham raised its offer to secure Erik Lamela, reports Metro.
French newspaper Le Parisien suggests that Ligue 1 club PSG is also in for the Manchester United winger.
PSG want to sign Nani as soon as possible. The Express assures that the Portuguese has become the top priority of the French club because he holds a European passport.

Willian may be able to leave Anzhi Makhachkala, despite only joining them in January. The Telegraph's Jason Burt says that the Russian club is having financial trouble and a £30 million offer can seal the deal.
The 25-year-old Brazilian played one season with Corinthians before moving to Shakhtar Donetsk of the Ukranian Premier League, where he appeared 222 times and scored 37 goals.
In 2007, the winger played in the U-20 World Cup, and four years later made his debut with the senior team.
