NBA 2K14: Latest Buzz on New Features, Soundtrack, Release Date and More
NBA 2K14 is one of the most anticipated games of the year and will inject new life into one of the best basketball franchises ever created.
Many thought that the game’s developer, Visual Concepts, would have trouble topping last season’s masterpiece—NBA 2K13—which was executive produced by Jay-Z and widely regarded as one of the top installments in the series.
However, with a new generation of video game consoles on the horizon, it seems that the geniuses behind 2K have outdone themselves.

New Features
Crew Mode
One of the more fun multiplayer modes of NBA 2K10 and NBA 2K11 was “My Crew,” which allowed up to 10 players (two teams of five) to compete against one another online.
Unfortunately, it was nixed when NBA 2K12 was released and was nowhere to be found in Jay-Z’s edition of the game.
That all changes this year, as it was recently announced that “My Crew” would be returning as “Crew Mode,” once again allowing up to 10 players to duke it out—this time with leaderboards, statistics and ranking systems.
For those of you who have a few friends and are into testing your video game basketball abilities against other organized groups, this is one of the most exciting announcements in years.
It’s great to see that the 2K creators are listening to their fans, as it was one of the most requested features from the community, according to Owen Good of Kotaku.
Euroleague
Although fans have been creating rosters and implementing teams and players from foreign leagues for years now, NBA 2K14 will officially embrace basketball’s international flavor by adding 14 Euroleague teams to the game.
While it would be nice to eventually see more of these powerhouse clubs from overseas make it in, this will be a solid test run that will introduce a ton of new teams to an American fanbase that is largely only familiar with the NBA.
Here’s the complete list of Euroleague teams that made the cut this year:
"Alba Berlin
FC Barcelona
Real Madrid
CSKA Moscow
EA7 Emporio Armani Milano
Montepaschi Siena
Fenerbahçe Ülker Istanbul
Anadolu Efes Istanbul
Olympiacos Piraeus
Panathinaikos Athens
Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv
Zalgiris Kaunas
Unicaja Málaga
Laboral Kutxa Vitoria
"
There are plenty of quality players to be found on the rosters of these squads.
It will be certainly interesting to see how some of the international teams stack up against the NBA’s best, which fans can now accomplish without downloading a custom roster from 2k Share or off the internet.
