Wigan Athletic lost 3-1 on the road to West Brom in their last match, the Latics' fifth straight match without a win.

In their last five, Wigan have drawn one and lost four, picking up only a single point from the available fifteen. The Latics are currently 11th in the league, five points behind 10th placed Manchester City and equal on points with 12th placed Stoke.

Wigan will be without Cho Won-hee and Amr Zaki, whilst Mido and Chris Kirkland are doubtful.

Manchester United

Manchester United beat Manchester City 2-0 at home in their last league match, Man Utd's sixth straight league win.

Winning each of their last five matches has given Manchester United all 15 points available from these matches. Man Utd are currently first in the league, three points ahead of second placed Liverpool with a match in hand. The Red Devils need only four points from their remaining three matches to clinch the title for the third successive year.

Man U will be without Wes Brown and Owen Hargreaves, whilst Rio Ferdinand and Johnny Evans are doubtful for this match with injuries.

Prediction

Man Utd beat Wigan 1-0 earlier this season at Old Trafford, whilst last year's Wigan vs Man Utd fixture ended in a 2-0 Manchester United win on the last day of the season, clinching the title for the Red Devils for the second successive year.

After convincingly dispatching of neighbours Manchester City 2-0 on the weekend, Man Utd now look poised to raise the Premiership title for a third year in a row. Cristiano Ronaldo, prima donna antics aside, has been in fine form with three goals in his last two matches.

Wigan alternatively are in an abysmal state, earning only one point from their last five matches, and have slumped to 11th place after being as high as seventh for a good part of the season.

With the two sides' form at polar opposites, the home advantage for Wigan will likely prove inconsequential, with the Latics winning only once in their last six at JJB Stadium, whilst Man Utd have only lost three times on the road all season long.

And so Man Utd look set to move within one point of clinching the title on Wednesday night, as they enter this fixture as heavy favourites to win.
