2013 K Fantasy Football Rankings: Can Kicker David Akers Bounce Back in Detroit?
While Akers was still recovering from groin surgery during OTAs, Iโve yet to hear anything negative about him during training camp. Groin problems were a problem in the final years for Akers with the 49ers and the Eagles a few year before that.
When healthy, we know Akers can be an effective option as he put together many fantasy relevant seasons in Philadelphia and had one of the best season any kickers had in the history of the game in San Francisco back in 2011.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap ๐ธ

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
In his later years before he retired this offseason, Jason Hanson was still a low-end starting option in 10-team leagues, so we know there is a history of production at the position with Matthew Stafford running the offense. Anticipate the Lions bouncing back on offense with Reggie Bush playing the same role as Jahvid Best a few seasons ago, and with Ryan Broyles'ย recovery from knee surgery going well.
Gone are the days of Titus Young, as it appears most of the knuckleheads in this organization have either flown the coop or have toned down their off the field antics to focus on football.
As long as Akers has a good showing in the preseason, look to the veteran as a safe starting options in the later rounds of your draft.
Lawrence Tynes in Tampa Bay
With the loss of their starting kicker Connor Barth, Tampa Bay picked up veteran Lawrence Tynes, who was one of the top kickers in fantasy last year playing with the New York Giants. Tynes is in another productive situation as the Buccaneers will be in every football game and will move the football on offense with consistency.
While Tynes doesnโt have one of the better legs in the game, heโs a respectable low-end starting option to consider on draft day.
