Carolina Panthers and Make-a-Wish Grant Child's Dream of Becoming NFL Coach

Jack Bolton is an eight-year-old who has spinal muscular atrophy. In conjunction with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Carolina Panthers signed him to a one-day contract as an official associate coach. 

Shutdown Corner's Frank Schwab spotted the video, which should bring a smile to your face similar to those worn by each and every player who had a chance to meet this remarkable boy. 

As you can see, being a Carolina Panthers coach comes with a tremendous number of perks, including all the hot dogs you can eat for the day—a fact Bolton seems rather pleased to hear. 

The best part of the video comes during a team meeting when Coach Ron Rivera read an amazing motivational speech written by the shy rookie coach. 

Charlotte News 14 has a full report on the big day for Bolton that transpired during the team's Fan Fest at Bank of America stadium. 

If Bolton seemed at ease and rather confident on the field, well, that's just because he has had some practice at coaching others. 

Holly Bolton, Jack's mom, explains: "He's been coaching his classmates at recess for several years and thought he was pretty good at it." Holly also noted that because of his disease, her son has never been able to walk or crawl.

As his sister, Eleanor, noted, her brother doesn't smile too much, but that all changed on Saturday: "He doesn't smile pretty much at all. And I'm trying to think of when I've seen him smile that big, and it's never been that big ever."

Smiling has never been more contagious. 

Bolton expected the best out his players, and he was quite the busy coach. A team spokesman painted a lovely picture of a young boy who was at camp to do a job, and do it well: "Jack was on it all day, charting the plays throughout the practice and then turning those back into Coach Rivera for post-practice evaluation when looking at game tapes."

It's obvious how wonderful this moment was to a young boy who wanted nothing more than to be around his favorite team for a day. 

The Panthers were also just as jubilant, savoring the moment alongside one of the more unforgettable coaches to helm the sidelines for the team.
