WWE 2K14: JBL Officially Announces Inclusion in New Game from Atop Mont Blanc
The fact that John Bradshaw Layfield is part of the WWE 2K14ย roster isn't a major surprise, but the way he announced his inclusion was pretty cool. JBL appeared in WWE 13 as the Texas billionaire and as Bradshaw, one-half of the Acolytes.
As cool as it was to have JBL on the roster of last yearโs game, the announcement wasnโt quite as dramatic.
From atop Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps, JBL calmly holds the game case and gushes about the roster and his virtual greatness. You gotta love it.
As epic roster inclusion announcements go, this one is the best.
JBL was climbing the mountain as part of his Seven Summits for Kids charity. The charity benefits underprivileged children in Bermuda. Layfield is funding 100 percent of the endeavor, per his website, and plants a Bermuda flag at the peak of every mountain he climbs.
This time, JBL pulled a little double duty.
JBLโs Clothesline from Hell is still the best lariat in the history of wrestling. The move has always been executed well in WWE games, and it should be just as devastating in WWE 2K14.ย
JBL joins Dolph Ziggler, John Cena, Randy โMacho Manโ Savage, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, โStone Coldโ Steve Austin, The Ultimate Warrior and the Undertaker in Phenom form, as well as 'Taker as the โAmerican Bad Assโ on the official roster.
As it relates to the early roster reveals, there are only three as-yet-revealed Superstars or Divas.
The full roster wonโt be released until the live roster reveal event just prior to SummerSlam at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
We can only hope to see the final three marquee spots filled with heavy hitters. The game is set to release on Oct. 29. Stay tuned for more information leading up to release.
