Henrik Stenson Wins the Players Championship

Henrik Stenson won the Tournament Players Championship on Sunday, beating Ian Poulter by two strokes, winning a huge check, and all the prestige that comes with the closest thing to a major on tour.

Tiger Woods, who trailed by five shots, struggled all afternoon on Sunday, and could not gain any momentum from a good round the previous day.

Next on the PGA Tour will be the hot Texas swing of the PGA, with tournaments starting with the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio, the HP Byron Nelson Championship in Irving, and ending with the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in Fort Worth.

Perhaps we will see a repeat winner out of these three, which has not happened on tour yet this season.

Out of Zach Johnson, Adam Scott, and Phil Mickelson, I would pick Phil to win at Colonial to get a win, in this hot section of the PGA Tour.

My picks this week for the Valero Open in San Antonio will include Anthony Kim, Zach Johnson, Chad Campbell, and Charlie Wi.

My bench, in case of bad play or injury will include Kevin Na, Brian Gay, Dustin Johnson, and Nick O'Hern.

Last week, my fantasy team did fairly well, placing second, eighth, and ninth.

I now reside in the 89th percentile of Yahoo Fantasy Golf, at the position of 19134. I have moved ahead of Yahoo expert Michael Arkush, and have almost caught Greg Vara, who is only ahead of me by eight points.

My picks have been steady, and I keep moving up, week by week.

My only concern is Tiger not winning his customary one-out-of-three tournaments he enters. I imagine he will play in Mr. Nelson's tournament, so we will see if he bounces back, and starts tuning up for the next major, his defense of the US Open Title.
