Forget Kobe and Lebron, Let's Talk Denver Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony!
While everyone is already anticipating seeing Kobe versus LeBron in the finals I think Denver Nuggets forward, Carmelo Anthony, might have something to say about that. The number 3 pick of the 2003 draft has seen draft mate and number 5 overall pick Dwayne Wade capture a championship ring back in the 2005-2006 season.
Anthony would love to get his ring before his good friend and rival since their high school days King James.
Top to bottom I think the Nuggets have the league's most balanced team and a great chance to give Anthony the ring he longs for to complete his championship trifecta.
Carmelo won a national championship at Syracuse in just one year with the team, won the Gold medal at last year's Olympics, and now just needs a NBA ring to round it out.
It seems to me that a team like the Nuggets with past and present All-Stars like Chauncey "Big Shot" Billups, Kenyon Martin and Carmelo Anthony would garner more respect. For a team as talented as this one to be able to fly under the radar or be blown off is a mistake by the so-called experts.
I am sure that Melo and his team are just fine with it as long as they keep winning the way that they do. Every one of the Nuggets' wins during these playoffs, thus far, have been by double figures including a 58 point blowout win in game 4 over the New Orleans Hornets.
This was the biggest playoff win certainly in Nuggets history and the biggest the league has seen in over half a century. Denver has seven bonafide scorers and have something that has never ever been attached to the Nugget team, defense!
The Mile High team overall is tougher, deeper, and more athletic than both the Rockets and the Lakers. I concede that as a team they don't have the big game experience of the Lakers but they do have Chauncey Billups who has been there and done that.
I know that my point of view is not the most popular one, but when the Nuggets, powered by Melo, beat the Lakers you will hear more of what I'm saying.
See ya then!
