Nets 2013-14 Schedule: Month-by-Month Listings, Predictions and More
The Brooklyn Nets have gone all-in on winning a championship next season, and now—with the 2013-14 NBA schedule finally released via NBA.com—the road to that goal has been revealed.
This tax-paying behemoth of a franchise reached new highs in both payroll and potential after acquiring future Hall of Famers Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett via trade during the offseason.
In KG, Brooklyn finally has a frontcourt player who can lead the defense and punish the opposition for doubling Brook Lopez, while The Truth promises to stretch the floor and give the team a reliable scorer on the wing.
There was also a splash hire at coach, as Jason Kidd was offered the gig just weeks after retiring from the league as a player.
On paper, the Nets appear to have one of the most balanced lineups in the league and are primed to challenge for the conference crown next spring.
Will the club be able to live up to the hype and dethrone the Miami Heat, or will it wither under the weight of great expectations? Let’s take a look at the complete schedule, make some predictions and more for the Nets upcoming campaign.

Most Intriguing Matchups
Brooklyn Nets vs. New York Knicks on 12/5
The Nets and Knicks rivalry finally began to flourish in 2012, something that makes perfect sense considering both organizations make their home in New York City and competed for the Atlantic Division title.
Expect that rivalry to crank up another notch during the first meeting in 2013, as both sides have reloaded this summer in preparation to make another postseason run.
The new-look Nets will definitely have their hands full against a Knickerbockers team that added Andrea Bargnani and Tim Hardaway Jr. to a lineup that earned the No. 2 seed in the East last year.
Another intriguing subplot is watching Coach Kidd facing his former team for the first time, although he will be on the sidelines and wearing a suit for this showdown.
Don’t be surprised if this goes down as one of the best matchups of the season and sets the stage for their additional epic battles in 2013-14.
Brooklyn Nets at Boston Celtics on 12/10
This will be a tough homecoming for Pierce and Garnett, as the two Celtics legends will have to dress in the Garden’s visiting locker room, see the 2008 championship banner that they raised and get received by what could be a hostile crowd.
While we fully expect the two superstars to receive
