Invicta FC Eyes Filming Its Own Reality Television Show

Nathan McCarterJun 8, 2018

Invicta FC just successfully completed its sixth show and its first on pay-per-view. Now, the all-women's MMA promotion will attempt to put forth a new reality television show.

It is unknown what format the show will bring to the audience at home, but in an interview with MMAWeekly.com, Invicta FC President Shannon Knapp promises it will be different.

“We’re doing a reality series that will be completely different than the format of what the UFC is doing and what Bellator is doing,” said Knapp.

It does seem, from Knapp's statements, that the Invicta FC reality program will not focus on up-and-comers but will focus instead on the roster already in place.

"

“I think it’s important for the athletes to know that we’re striving and moving forward every day, and I think that gives them even more to fight for and be excited about,” she said. “I mean, come on. Look at these girls. Can you imagine watching a show with all these personalities that we have here in Invicta? This show is going to be amazing.”

"

The current stable of talent on Invicta's roster provides a lot of options. The organization has already released numerous videos via its YouTube channel. With the help of E. Casey Leydon and Esther Lin of AllElbows.com, Invicta has produced some of the best videos in MMA.

And many other fighters have released videos on their own, including fan favorite Bec Hyatt.

“It will give an opportunity for these athletes to be more known and elevated in the eyes of the public and all that kind of thing,” Knapp said.

Invicta FC is still working on filming the pilot for the series. It is unclear if a network is already involved or if the series will be shopped around.

It would be a big get for the organization to find a home for its new series. It would help elevate the status of the organization and, more importantly, elevate the status of the female talent competing in MMA. It would continue the remarkable growth women's MMA has seen over the past few years.

In the 15 months of operation, Invicta FC has seen consistent growth. It continues to put on amazing shows with exciting fights. The Invicta brand continues to gain steam within the MMA community and is becoming synonymous with women's MMA.

Time will tell if the pilot gets picked up. In the meantime, Knapp and Invicta will keep plugging along. The seventh show is being eyed for the fall.
