Cesc Fàbregas
1 of 5BBC Sport is reporting that Manchester United have made a second bid for Barcelona's Cesc Fàbregas, a development corroborated by Sky Sports News:
"David Moyes confirms Manchester United have made second bid for Cesc Fabregas #SSN
— Sky Sports News (@SkySportsNews) July 22, 2013"
According to Jamie Jackson at The Guardian, the source of Fàbregas' discontent was with Tito Vilanova, but he's stepped down to continue his valiant battle against cancer.
Having sold Thiago, logic tells you that Barça won't let Fàbregas go, and if you are to believe his words, he doesn't want to leave the club.
"Whoever says that I'm leaving doesn't know me and has never spoken with me," Fàbregas told Sky Sports in June. "If someone says anything that isn't that I want to play at Barça, it's completely absurd."
Could this be a shameless PR stunt by United to counteract the world-class signings made by their rivals Manchester City and Chelsea?

Wayne Rooney
2 of 5Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney is not a transfer target for Paris Saint-Germain, according to their manager Laurent Blanc, via Pete O'Rourke at Sky Sports.
Rooney, who according to BBC Sport is 'angry and confused' with United management, is Chelsea manager José Mourinho's prime summer transfer target.
Rooney is stubborn, commands inflated wages and isn't a necessity for the Blues.

Gonzalo Higuaín
3 of 5Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has rejected reports that Gonzalo Higuaín is set to join Napoli.
"Not true, I don't have any news about this," Ancelotti said when queried on the Arsenal transfer target joining Napoli, via Sky Sports. "Until we have news we have to consider him as a Real Madrid player and I would like him to stay with us."

Luis Suárez
4 of 5Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reiterated the club's stance on keeping Luis Suárez.
"The reality is that he's a player who is very much valued at Liverpool" Rodgers said, via Sky Sports. "There's nothing to consider."
Though, he added: "Unless there's any sort of offer that comes in that's anywhere near his value..." which means that if the Reds were to receive a ridiculously inflated bid, the club would sell Suárez.

Bafétimbi Gomis
5 of 5Lee Ryder at Chronicle Live is reporting that Newcastle United have submitted a bid for Lyon's Bafétimbi Gomis.
Current Newcastle No. 9 Papiss Cissé's relationship with the club is strained, via FOX Sports:
"Papiss Cissé has withdrawn from Newcastle United's pre-season tour of Portugal after refusing to wear club sponsor Wonga's logo on religious grounds.
The Senegal striker, a Muslim, told club officials he was not prepared to promote Wonga, a firm which offers short-term, high-interest loans.
Islamic law forbids borrowing or paying money with interest. However, the 28-year-old did offer to wear an unbranded shirt or one bearing a charity logo instead.
"
Cissé's stance is so hypocritical given that the Toon's sponsor last season was Virgin Money.
