Walter Mazzarri Wants Another Wide Player
1 of 8Updated: July 25, Thursday
Speaking to Italian site Corriere dello Sport(h/t Football-Italia), new Inter boss, Walter Mazzarri, stated his hope that his side will sign a new wide player.
Here's what Mazzarri had to say on the issue,
"It would be better if one arrived
Everybody knows how important my wide players are to me in both phases of play – the defensive and the offensive.
"
Goal.com and Sky Sports reported last week that Juventus rejected Inter's approach for their top wide target, Mauricio Isla.
Netherlands international, Gregory van der Wiel, is another player who has been linked, via Sky Sports, with a move to the club.
The interest in these two players suggest the right wing-back position is Inter's focus, as players like Alvaro Pereira and Yuto Nagatomo can battle it out on the left side.
Ezequiel Schelotto Move to Chievo Halted
2 of 8Updated: July 25, Thursday
Ezequiel Schelotto's future is still not clear but is likely that the Argentine-born winger will leave Inter this summer.
Chievo's Sporting director, Giovanni Sartori, again spoke out on the issue, telling Sport Italia(h/t Football-Italia) that the situation is being evaluated.
Schelotto joined Inter from Atalanta midway through the 2012/13 season.
Daryl Janmaat Happy with Inter Interest
3 of 8Updated: July 25, Thursday
Inter's interest has seen them add another Netherlands international to their list of targets.
Feyenoord right-back, Dary Janmaat, was quoted by Voetbal International(h/t Goal.com) as saying that he is aware of Inter's reported interest, and that he may be open to a move.
Janmaat's form last season saw him enter the Netherlands national team setup, and provide competition for Gregory Van der Wiel in the process. He scored three goals for Feyenoord last season.
Marco Borriello May Join on Loan
4 of 8Updated: July 25, Thursday
Football-Italia relayed an original report from Italian site, Corriere dello Sport, that Marco Borriello could join Inter Milan on-loan next season.
Borriello was on-loan at Genoa during the 2012/13 campaign, scoring 12 goals and adding one assist in 28 games. The Italian striker has played for AC Milan in the past, and Inter would be the 10th team he plays for during his career.
The 31-year-old striker would add some experience to an attack that has added young talents, Mauro Icardo and Ishak Belfodil.
Gaston Ramirez Linked with a Move
5 of 8Reports from the Mirror and Sky Sports suggest that Inter Milan is interested in Southampton attacking midfielder Gaston Ramirez.
The Uruguayan attacking midfielder just finished his first season in England, but his agent believes he may be enticed by a move back to Italy. Speaking to Ilsussidiario.net (h/t Sky Sports), here's what Ramirez's agent had to say:
"I have not personally had any contact with Inter, but there could well have been discussions between the clubs...
Should it be possible? I'm convinced that everything can be done if there is the money to do it.
For Ramirez the English side made a big sacrifice, so if Inter like him they will have to pay a big sum.
Italy is in Ramirez's heart, but I don't like talking about things that are not concrete.
Should there be an offer, then we will evaluate.
"
Ramirez had a decent first season in England, scoring five goals and adding three assists in 26 games. Injury and difficulty adapting early on certainly lessened the impact of the Saints' record signing, though.
Ramirez really came to prominence during his two seasons in Italy with Bologna, and a return to the Serie A may see him regain his best form.
Chievo Interested in Ezequiel Schelotto
6 of 8Chievo's sporting director Giovanni Sartori told Calcio News 24 (h/t Football Italia) that they are interested in signing Inter Milan's Ezequiel Schelotto.
Schelotto joined Inter Milan midway through the 2012/13 season. He went on to make 12 appearances for the Nerazzurri.
Schelotto may find playing time hard to come by in Inter's new system under Walter Mazzarri, especially if the team lands a reported target like Gregory van der Wiel.
Van der Wiel would take up a position on the right side of a 3-5-2. He would provide competition for Javier Zanetti and Jonathan.
Wellington Wants Inter Move
7 of 8Inter may continue their trend of adding Brazilian talent to the squad, as Sao Paulo star Wellington is reportedly interested in a move.
The player's agent, Gustavo Arribas, spoke to FCInterNews.it (h/t Football Italia) and told the site that his client turned down a move to Galatasaray because he only wants to move to Inter.
The midfielder has become an increasingly important figure for Sao Paulo in recent seasons.
Juventus Reject Inter Approach for Mauricio Isla
8 of 8Inter may miss out on one of their biggest targets this summer. Both Goal.com and Sky Sports report that Juventus have rejected the club's approach for Mauricio Isla.
The versatile Chilean would be a great fit for Walter Mazzarri's Inter side, and would likely play a key role on the right side of Inter's 3-5-2 setup. Isla only made 16 appearances for Juventus last season, picking up three assists in the process.
