British Open 2013 Payout: Winner's Purse and Final Leaderboard

Phil Mickelson was able to surge on Day 4 to win the 2013 British Open at Muirfield in Gullane, Scotland. Lefty finished with a five-under-par 66 on the final day and an overall score of three-under par.

Of course, the prize money makes the victory even sweeter. 

Not only does Mickelson take home the Claret Jug, but he'll collect £945,000 ($1.43 million) for his efforts. The 2013 payout is up £45,000 ($68,600) from last year when Ernie Els won the tournament.

Second-place finisher Henrik Stenson walks away with a cool £545,000 ($823,167).

The top 15 performers all made at least $100,000 for their efforts...not too bad for a week of golfing.

With beautiful weather and huge payouts for even the poorest finishers, it’s good to be a golfer.
