Roster Breakdown
2 of 7The Giants will enter training camp with 91 players but leave with only 53. It will be a fierce battle to avoid being one of the 38 players that don’t make the team.
The performance by these players in preseason games will certainly factor heavily into the coaches decision on who to keep. Nearly as important, though, will be what they show everyday in practice.

Burning Questions
3 of 7Every team has questions heading into a new season. When you miss the playoffs the year before, however, those questions tend to pile up quickly.
It doesn’t always stop there. The Giants will also have to integrate new players they acquired through free agency and the draft. Injuries to key contributors and inexperienced players suddenly thrust into important roles adds to the uncertainty.

Biggest Camp Battles
4 of 7Watching players compete to win playing time is one of the best parts of any training camp.
Big Blue has some interesting battles to follow on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Right tackle, middle linebacker and the third wide receiver spot are all up for grabs. Even special teams will get some attention, as Josh Brown and David Buehler will boot it out for placekicking duties.

Rookie/UDFA Watch
5 of 7The Giants most-talked-about draft pick may end playing the least out of the rookies that make the team.
Big Blue surprised every one by trading up in the fourth round to grab quarterback Ryan Nassib. While the Nassib selection grabbed headlines, the more unheralded picks of Justin Pugh, Johnathan Hankins and Damontre Moore will each probably play a larger role in the upcoming season.
Even players chosen late in the draft, like safety Cooper Taylor and running back Michael Cox, figure to make the team and could contribute right away.
And don’t forget about the undrafted free agents the Giants signed. These players may have been overlooked, but they will still have a chance to surprise in training camp.

Bubble Watch
6 of 7Some players enter training camp knowing a roster spot is secure. Others are aware that making the team is a long shot at best.
Then there are a precious few players right on the bubble, where their performance in camp, among other extenuating circumstances, will decide their fate.
For the Giants in 2013, veterans like David Carr and Ryan Torain are firmly in this territory of the unknown.

Projected Final 53-Man Roster
7 of 7There is still more than a month before the Giants have to decide on a 53-man roster. A lot can change over that time, as surprise players will make their case and injuries could quickly increase the chances of guys without much hope making the team.
Predicting who will make the regular season roster is still fun to do at this point. By late August, it could prove to be an indicator that the Giants training camp contained few surprises. On the other hand, the prediction could end up being a reminder of how much training camp changed the equation.
