Michael Phelps' Girlfriend Win McMurry Steals Show at 2013 ESPY Awards

On an evening that featured some of the biggest stars in the sports world, it wasn’t a Super Bowl winner or NBA superstar who stole the spotlight, but the girlfriend of Olympic gold-medalist swimmer Michael Phelps.

Golf Channel personality Win McMurry has long been rumored to be dating Phelps, and their appearance at the ESPYs only solidified the speculation and gave the viewing audience a little more to talk about.

Larry Brown of Larry Brown Sports tweeted a photo of the alleged couple, McMurry, with her left arm tucked under Phelps’ right as they watched the awards show.

Despite his 18 Olympic gold medals, Phelps has turned his attention to another sport he’s passionate about, appearing on the Golf Channel’s The Haney Project to refine his golfing skills next to renowned instructor Hank Haney.

So it comes as no surprise Phelps appears to be dating a woman who shares the same passion. McMurry even posted a photo of the two on Instagram in early May, McMurry seemingly giving some instruction to the 28-year-old.

The pair didn’t exactly dominate the ESPYs coverage, but there was no shortage of Twitter observers taking the time to note the apparent relationship. After all, Phelps did win awards for Male Olympic Athlete of the Year and Best Record-Breaking Performance.

McMurry is obviously doing something right if she is stealing the headlines, though. It’s not often someone outshines Phelps on any stage, especially a stage on which he just accepted a couple of pretty big awards for doing what he does best.
