Florida Panthers' 2013-14 NHL Schedule Leaked: Sneak Peek Your Team's Games
As fans from across North America hounded the NHL for the release of the 2013-14 season schedule, the Florida Panthers' 82-game slate managed to find its way onto the Internet.
Twitter user Matt Stein tweeted an official-looking schedule at 11:28 a.m. ET on Wednesday that was shared by Miami Herald columnist George Richards later in the day. Per Stein:
Later reports confirmed that the full and official schedule will not be released until Thursday at the earliest.
However, fans of all 29 other NHL franchises can already get a quick sneak peek of their team's calendar, as every club plays Florida between two and five times in the coming campaign.
The Panthers begin the season at Dallas on Oct. 3 and conclude at home against Columbus on Apr. 12, taking a break from Dec. 24 to 27 for Christmas and from Feb. 8 to 26 for the supposed Olympic break. All of those dates are expected to be generally paralleled across the entire league calendar.
Moreover, Florida's schedule includes two games against each out-of-conference opponent, three games against each in-conference, out-of-division opponent and four or five games against each divisional opponent. Those patterns should be true for every team, regardless of division and conference.
The Panthers face the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings five times each while meeting the Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs and in-state rival Tampa Bay Lightning on only four occasions each.
How does Florida's leaked 2013-14 slate sort out? When does your team face the Panthers in 2013-14? A complete list of every club's games with Florida lies below.
