UCW Bushwacked Tour May 7th Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Ben SampsonMay 8, 2009

Where I live, there isn't much wrestling action, so I was ecstatic when it was announced that UCW(acronym for Ultimate Championship Wrestling): Bushwacked Tour would be coming to my hometown of Halifax. Last night, three new champions were crowned and one of the champions was the inaugural UCW Heavyweight Champion.

I got there at about 6:40 Atlantic Time, and the doors were going to open at 7:00. Thankfully, we were allowed to sit wherever we wanted, because my friend had bought a ticket at the door while I had advance tickets. We were in the 3rd row from the ring and had a great view.

There were booths all around us, so I went to take a look. I saw the ECWP Champion, met Al Snow, and got an autographed 8 by 10 picture of the HONKY TONK MAN! It was great.

At 7:30 Atlantic Time (6:30 Eastern Time, so one hour ahead), the first match commenced. It was Hulk (not Hogan) and a wrestler from Fall River against two 330-pound men. Not very entertaining, but it was funny to make fun of the heels (the 330-pound men); my friend said to the wrestler in the pink lighting wrestling suit, "That's a face not even a mother could love!" and everyone was hysterical.

Winner: Hulk and wrestler from Fall River: Hulk got the win with a Big Boot and a Leg Drop.

The next match was another tag team match between a guy in flaming tights, a wrestler that ressembled one of the Highlanders, and two French Canadians (one of them I think was the Amazing Ace). Pretty good match and was also a match of humour; the wrestler in the blue and white pants (not the Amazing Ace) was saying that French Canadians are better than the rest; we gave him the finger.

But he had a good match, with selling the moves properly and hitting a perfect dropkick. In the end, there was one team left standing:

Highlander impersonator and teammate won: Highlander got the pin after Ace tried to pull off a moonsault.

Next match: JP Simms vs. Middleweight Champion for the Middleweight Champion (I can't seem to remember their because the announcer's voice was mumbled, but JP had a shirt with his name on it).

This was definitely a great match; at the beginning, the champion and JP would go onto the turnbuckles. When JP would jump onto a turnbuckle, we cheered; can't say the same for the champion, who got "politely" booed. The champion was being a coward, slipping in and out of the ring and staying far away from Simms.

Once the match actually got going, both wrestlers had a good showing, with the champion getting a couple of Cobra Clutches and some shoulder blocks, while JP Simms hit some shoulder blocks, a CM Punk-style flying clothesline and an RKO even Randy Orton couldn't pull off for the win and the Middleweight Championship.

Winner and NEW Middleweight Champion: JP Simms via pnifall after an RKO

Intermission: Wasn't very eventful; just some people getting pictures with Honky Tonk Man and Bushwacker Luke. My brother got a UCW t-shirt and I was mad. I was also looking for Sprite and Coca-Cola bottle caps for iCoke Coins.

After Intermission: Title Match for the UCW Tag Team Championship: Honky Tonk Man and Bushwacker Luke vs. "Kowboy" Mike Hughes and "Wildman" Gary Williams (c)

Honky Tonk Man came out first, and sang a song (I don't remember the title, but we had to yell "Honky Tonk Man"). After that, everyone wanted to see Tonk's partner, and who else but Bushwacker Luke! The crowd went wild.

Then came Sicil, who manages the Tag Team Champions, Mike Hughes and Gary Williams.hey all came in a white limousine and their belts were flashy, with a yellow strap and black plates.

Bushwacker Kuke and Williams started the match...on their knees. Williams thought it was some kind of sexual "suggestion", but he went along with it anyway. Luke backed the "Wildman" into the corner which caused Williams to get a crotch shot from the ring post.

We cheered on the WWE Legends, and the champions told us to shut up; we gave them the finger. There were 6- year olds giving the finger; so much for responsibility (but I think they were planted). The champions stayed out of the ring for a while, and then Mike Hughes was tagged in. He put a beating on Luke and held him in a Cobra clutch. Mike then tagged Gary back in. Williams put Luke in a headlock. Honky Tonk tried to interfere, but the ref wouldn't allow it.

Finally, Bushwacker Luke got some momentum and he and Williams both hit a clothesline. After they were down, Luke tagged in Honky, and Gary tagged in Hughes. Honky Tonk, fresh and ready to go, hit a series of punches on Hughes and was about to powerbomb him when Williams interfered and hit him from behind. Bushwacker Luke ran into the ring to fight Williams.

Honky Tonk Man and Luke had the champions at two opposing corners, so they both Irish Whipped their opponents at each other. While Honky was beating down on Hughes, Luke threw "Wildman" Gary Williams into a corner after biting his fingers...

AND GAVE HIM A STINKFACE!

The match was pretty much over after that. The CEO of UCW announced that the next time UCW comes to Halifax, it will be "Kowboy" Mike Hughes vs. "Wildman" Gary Williams.

Winners and New UCW Tag Team Champions: Honky Tonk Man and Bushwacker Luke; Honky got the pin since he was the legal man.

SPX vs. Al Snow

Since SPX was from Halifax, we had to cheer for him, but he was fighting Al Snow, who brought Head. Before the match, everyone wanted Snow to hit SPX with Head, but the ref wouldn't allow it, so we booed.

The bell was rung. Al and SPX went at it. Funny match; there were some moves, but mainly Al Snow wanted to hit SPX with Head. Then. when SPX threw Snow into the ref, Snow suplexed SPX and pinned him. When he realized that he wasn't going to win, the Hardcore Legend called in another ref.

He got knocked out too.

SPX then took a chair from a chair and proceeded to hit Al Snow, but he pulled an Eddie Guerrero; SPX threw the chair at Snow and laid down to make it seem like Snow had hit him with the chair. Making the best decision, Snow put the chair down and laid down too.

When the first ref got up, he asked the crowd who had used the chair. All fingers pointed at SPX. So, while the ref was placing the chair out of the ring. Snow hit SPX with Head.

Winner via pinfall: Al Snow after hitting SPX with Head*

*(There were chants of "Head" and "We want Head" during the match. When the crowd chanted "We want Head", my brother's frind yelled "That's what your mom said!" and the crowd roared)

Title Match for the UCW Heavyweight Championship: Titus vs. Chris Cook

Chris Cook came in to chants of "You suck". The guys in front of us called him a pork chop. He flipped his lid at them, and they responded with the infamous middle finger (You can clearly see that Cook is the heel). A big guy at 6 foot 3 and 325 pounds.

When Titus entered, the venue erupted; fans screamed and cheered. He then gave a lucky fan his red boa (it wasn't me) and entered the ring.

Then the bell rung out and everyone cheered. Titus put Cook into a headlock, who sent him flying into the ropes and took him down with a powerful shoulder block. Chris then leg-dropped his opponent and tried to go for a pin, but only got a two-count. More domination from Cook until after a missed clothesline, Titus hit a spinning neckbreaker. After failing to get the pin, Titus jumped from the top rope...

And missed his leg drop.

Cook then threw Titus out of the ring, where he proceeded to Irish Whip Titus onto the steel barricade. He then pushed Titus into the ring after bashing his head into the mat and went for a pin. Another failed attempt at victory.

We started to chant "Pork Chop". He told us to shut the hell up, and we did what we do; FINGER, BABY!

Chris Cook kept trying to knock Titus down, but Titus wouldn't back down. Then, Titus Irish Whipped Chris Cook into the turnbuckle and from the top rope pulled a Frakensteiner.

Winner and NEW UCW Heavyweight Champion: Titus via pinfall after a Frankensteiner (jumping Hurricarana)

Titus then celebrated his win and the card was over. After the match, the crowd started a chant of "U-C-W!U-C-W!" I got to meet Sicil, since my father knows him, and that was it. I also got 5,500 iCoke Coins (*laughs*).

Well, that's my UCW Report. If you want me to do another feature, just comment.
