West Ham United beat Stoke City 1-0 on the road in their last league match, the Hammers' first win in four matches.
In their last five matches, West Ham have won two, drawn one and lost two, earning seven points from the 15 on offer. West Ham currently find themselves seventh in the league, eight points behind sixth placed Everton, and one point clear of Man City, Fulham, and Tottenham.
West Ham have Carlton Cole and Jack Collison fighting to be fit for this match, but Scott Parker, James Collins, and Kieron Dyer will all miss out with injuries.
Liverpool
Liverpool defeated Newcastle United 3-0 in their last league match, the Reds' second straight league win and seventh win in eight matches.
In their last five, Liverpool have won four and drawn one, earning 13 from the 15 points on offer. Liverpool are currently second in the league, still trailing leaders Manchester United by three points, with the Red Devils holding a match in hand.
Liverpool currently have no newly reported injury concerns.
Prediction
The two sides drew 0-0 earlier this season at Anfield, whilst last season's West Ham vs Liverpool match at Upton Park saw the Hammers win 1-0.
Both teams still technically have a lot to play for in this season's competition. Liverpool, though unlikely, could still be crowned the winners at the end of the season if Man Utd earn less than seven points from their remaining four matches. With the Red Devils still to play Manchester City, Wigan, Arsenal, and Hull, there is a slim chance that this could happen.
West Ham, on the other hand, are playing for European qualification, with the team who grabs seventh place in the league making it through to next season's Europa Cup.
With West Ham currently holding seventh place and only a point separating them from three other teams, the Hammers will have to do all they can in order to earn that vital place in Europe, with fixtures against Everton and Middlesbrough still to come after this clash.
West Ham haven't had the best form at home this season, whilst Liverpool's away form has been stellar. In spite of this, the Hammers have only lost 1-0 to both Chelsea and Manchester United in recent fixtures at Upton Park, so there is still some hope for them to at least pull a point from this fixture.
However, Liverpool will want to do all they can to ensure that the pressure is kept up on Manchester United at the top of the table, and so the Reds look relatively assured to come away from this encounter with a victory.
