According to Sports 620 KTAR's John Gambadoro, the Arizona Diamondbacks will fire manager Bob Melvin and will name his replacement prior to Arizona's game against the Washington Nationals on Friday night.

During a radio interview with 620 KTAR, Diamondback CEO Derrek Hall admitted that something needed to be done to fix the underachieving D-Backs.

"We know something has to be done," Hall told Sports 620 KTAR's Doug & Wolf. "We've been grossly under-performing now for five plus months and it's just not fair to the fans, it's not fair to the organization."

There's no speculation on who is going to take the reins, but according to several reports it will not be Chip Hale, who is currently the third base coach for the team and was the former manager for the Diamondbacks' Triple-A affiliate in Tucson.
