New NBA Mock Draft 📝

There is always a lot of fringe talent on summer league rosters, guys who have no chance of making an NBA roster. However, on some teams, there are some really good players who will absolutely dominate.

Which teams have the best roster? Read on to find out.

Portland Trail Blazers

The Blazers will feature reigning Rookie of the Year winner Damian Lillard, which instantly makes them the best team in the summer league. Lillard averaged 19 points and 6.5 assists per game last season and is already one of the best point guards in the game.

Joining Lillard will be this year's first-round draft pick, C.J. McCollum. McCollum was injured for parts of last season at Lehigh, but two seasons ago he absolutely dominated Duke in the NCAA tournament. He'll be able to do the same in the summer league.

In addition, Meyers Leonard will see significant playing time. Still somewhat raw, the big man averaged 18 minutes and scored 5.5 points per game in his rookie year.

Finally, look for Will Barton to dominate. He started to really turn it on at the end of the season, averaging 15.2 points in the final five games. He's an athletic slasher who should run over the competition.

The Blazers are stacked and should be considered the favorites for the summer league crown.

New York Knicks

The Knicks roster will feature Iman Shumpert, who will probably be one of the best players in the summer league.

He averaged 6.8 points per game in 22.1 minutes, and missed half the season due to injury. Despite the low offensive output, he's a dynamite defender and should lead the summer league in steals. He's incredibly athletic and should be able to get to the bucket with relative ease.

In addition, Tim Hardaway Jr. should have a big summer league. The first-round pick is a big-time scorer, and since the summer league is not really known for defense, Hardaway should be able to put up big numbers. Last year at Michigan, he averaged 14.5 points per game.

Although he went undrafted,  C.J. Leslie is a great athlete and was productive in college. He should be motivated after his surprising fall, and he can easily eclipse the 15.1 points he averaged last season at NC State.

Finally, the Knicks could have a real sleeper in Jeremy Tyler. The 6'10" center dominated the D-League, averaging 17.4 points and 8.8 rebounds. He could put up big numbers this summer.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Wolves will be led by their two first-round draft picks, Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng. Muhammad averaged 17.9 points per game at UCLA last season, and in a league where defense is not exactly the first priority, he should have a pretty easy time.

Gorgui Dieng was a key cog in Louisville's run to the NCAA title, and he should play an important role for the Wolves this summer. Not a flashy player, Dieng simply gets the job done. He's an effective low-post scorer and protects the rim well. He'll bring that game to the Wolves this summer and beyond and will help them advance far in the summer tournament.

Finally, a sleeper is Mychel Thompson. Last year in the D-League, Thompson averaged 11.4 points per game and can be effective as a low-post banger.

The Wolves will go as far as Muhammad and Dieng take them, but the two are talented enough to lead them deep into the tournament.
