The Detroit Red Wings revamped their top six today with the additions of Daniel Alfredsson and Stephen Weiss, and project to be contenders in 2013-14.

The Red Wings are heading to the Eastern Conference this season, and general manager Ken Holland will likely attempt to add some players that will allow his team to play East Coast hockey.

The Red Wings are a skilled team that exceeded expectations in 2012-13, and they will have the challenge of adjusting to a set of new opponents during the upcoming season.

There is always room to make improvements, however. This Original Six franchise prides itself on its ability to be a top contender, and the team has a bright future with many prospects who could make their debut this season.
