Wimbledon 2013: Day 10 Schedule, Matchups and Predictions

Ryan RudnanskyJun 8, 2018

Day 10 of Wimbledon 2013 marks the women's semifinals, as 2012 finalist Agnieszka Radwanska takes on Sabine Lisicki and Marion Bartoli faces off with Kirsten Flipkens.

Lisicki has probably made the most waves so far, knocking out world No. 1 Serena Williams in the fourth round. Radwanska is coming off a hard-fought victory over Li Na

Bartoli defeated young American Sloane Stephens in the quarterfinals, while Flipkens scored her third victory in four matches against Petra Kvitova.

Top Matches and Predictions

Marion Bartoli (15) vs. Kirsten Flipkens (20)

Marion Bartoli was only 14-12 this year coming into Wimbledon 2013, but she's been dominant at the All England Club, beating all five of her opponents in straight sets, including the young promising American, Sloane Stephens.

Meanwhile, Kirsten Flipkens' come-from-behind victory against No. 8 seed Petra Kvitova in the quarterfinals was impressive. After dropping the first set, she went on to win, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. She is now 3-1 lifetime against Kvitova.

This match is even tougher to call, considering Bartoli and Flipkens have never played each other. But I'm giving it to Bartoli, considering she has more experience in the tournament.

Bartoli has appeared at Wimbledon 11 times in her career (compared to five times for Flipkens). She reached the final in 2007 and the quarterfinals in 2011.

As for Flipkens, this is the first time she's advanced past the third round at Wimbledon.

Prediction: Bartoli 6-4, 5-7, 6-4

Sabine Lisicki (23) vs. Agnieszka Radwanska (4)

Sabine Lisicki has run through Samantha Stosur and world No. 1 Serena Williams en route to the semifinals at Wimbledon, while Agnieszka Radwanska just knocked out No. 6 seed Li Na.

The pair is 1-1 against each other, with Radwanska winning in Dubai last year and Lisicki winning in Stanford in 2011.

Both Radwanska and Lisicki have experienced success in the tournament. Radwanska had reached at least the quarterfinals three times before this year (including the final in 2012), while Lisicki had also reached at least the quarterfinals three times (including the semifinals in 2011).

While I've had a good feeling about Radwanska throughout the tournament, it's hard for me to bet against Lisicki at this point, considering her spectacular victory over Williams and ensuing straight-set victory over Kaia Kanepi.

I think Lisicki wins in three sets, although this is a tough match to call.

Prediction: Lisicki 6-4, 4-6, 7-5
