Philadelphia-New York: Phillies Win Over Mets 5-2

Dave DoyleApr 8, 2008

The Philadelphia Phillies (4-4) came to New York and started up where they left off last season.

The New York Mets (2-4) were expecting to get their final season in Shea Stadium started with a bang, but it did not turn out that way. The Phillies took the first game of a three game series, 5-2.

Scott Schoenweiss recorded his first blown save and loss of the season. Carlos Delgado homered early in the game, but did not help Schoenweis with a throwing error that led to a three-run seventh inning for the Phillies.
