2013 K Fantasy Football Rankings: NFL Kicker Kai Forbath Joins Top 10 List
Kai Forbath received an opportunity with the Redskins in early October after the team decided to release Billy Cundiff after failing to convert on five of his eleven field-goal opportunities.
Forbath proved to be dependable as he showed Washington fans why he was a Lou Groza Award winner back at UCLA, converting 17 of his 18 field-goal opportunities from week six to week 17.
While the Redskins secondary projects to struggle against respectable passing teams, as long as they have Robert Griffin under center, Forbath has a chance to be a productive fantasy kicker.

Look to Forbath as one of a handful of kickers in good opportunities that can be respectable low-end starting kicker options in 10-team leagues.
David Akers Starts Over In Detroit
Jason Hanson had a heck of a run with Detroit as he was the franchise kicker for 20 years. Now retired, it is veteran David Akers that will likely replace him and should vault up to the top 10 kickers in fantasy again with his new team.
We do need to keep an eye on Akers in the preseason to make sure his hernia problems over recent years don't persist. As a 49ers fan, I am willing to say it was more than just an injury that plagued Akers by the time the playoffs rolled around, as his body language on the sidelines suggested he lost his confidence.
Akers missed a key field goal against the Falcons and it could’ve cost the team a victory and a chance to play in the Super Bowl. He even missed on one conversion in the Super Bowl but you won’t find it in the stat box because of a questionable call from the refs for a penalty on the Ravens.
Taking Akers as one of the last kickers off the board on draft day wouldn’t be a bad idea, because the Lions offense will give him opportunities weekly for top 10 fantasy numbers at his position.
