Bodybuilding and Fitness Review: Issue 1
This post marks the first edition of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Review here at Colin Timberlake.
After a call for article submissions, I received a good deal of content from several writers, and I have collected some of the standout submissions in this one post, the inaugural publication of this โblog carnival.โ
I have to say that I am pretty new to the blog carnival phenomenon, certainly with respect to hosting, and Iโve found it both rewarding and annoying.
For one, I canโt believe the amount of spam โarticle submissionsโ I have been inundated with, the vast majority of which have nothing to do with fitness, weightlifting, sports, bodybuilding or anything even remotely related to physical activities.

These articles (if you can call a link-filled promotional ad an article) are about everything from mosquito repellent to childbirth techniques. I suppose if I wanted, I could somehow twist my thinking to call the latter activity an abdominal workout, but anywayโฆ
Iโve also received a number of submissions which, while related to fitness and bodybuilding, are very clearly not-even-thinly-veiled full-out ads.
While I'm sure I could somehow finagle those into some sort of marginal page rank improvement, Iโve decided to maintain a bit of editorial and content credibility here at Colin Timberlake and Iโll be looking for and passing on content that is deserving of having ads featured in it, not the ads themselves.
With that said, here are some interesting collected works for Issue 1. Please enjoy, and I hope they serve you well on your fitness journey.
PERSONAL FITNESS EXPERIENCES
Batting lead-off, a la Rickey Henderson, we have Tristan from Body And Fitness Blog, who has written more than a few quality articles on fitness, including his own training journal for anyone who wants to read about the daily challenges of an intense program.
In this case, Tristan writes about a High Intensity Hill Sprint Interval Training Session.
WORKOUT TIPS
Steve at Hundred Goals presents some thoughts on working out from the perspective of a guy just getting into it, a position we all either are or were in at one time. He presents Some Thoughts on Exercising.
For a guy who says he has only been exercising regularly for a month, he has some pretty good advice.
Fit Jerk presents Grunt You Wimp! - Increase Power In Your Workouts, posted at FlawlessFitness, and lets you know that a little bit of noise isnโt a bad thing if it means you blast your muscles to the max.
MOTIVATION
Steve Faber at Belly Fat Loser presents The Belly Fat Loser Top 10 Reasons to Exercise.
Robert Galway, writing for Robs Sports and fitness, offers his thoughts on Sports and Fitness, including a reference to the positive influences of Joe Weider.
HEALTH and WARNINGS
Modern Menโs Health offers Gynecomastia: Are You Wearing Two Undershirts? and presents the picture of an unfortunate condition that can strike aspiring bodybuilders or fitness freaks if they dabble in steroids without doing their research.
Think twice, people. To this end, Gynecomastia-Gyno.com clarifies the situation even further, providing a deeper picture on precisely how Steroids and Gynecomastia are related, and how a man trying to develop a more manly chest can end up with the chest of a woman if he is not careful.
WORKOUT ROUTINES
And batting cleanup, like Jose Canseco without the steroids, Conan Stevens presents Free Bodybuilding Workout Routines posted at The Bodybuilding Actor. Conan offers a few different workout programs as options depending on your schedule and goals.
So, there you have it. The inaugural issue of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Review. Keep pumping, and enjoy the journey.
