David Taylor, thought to be the nation's No. 1 recruit from over 250,000 high school wrestlers, has been granted a release from Iowa State University after head coach Cael Sanderson left the Cyclones for bluer pastures.

Sanderson, a four-time NCAA champion left Iowa State late last month to pursue a coaching career at Penn State University.

According to Taylor, a four-time state champion from St. Paris Graham high school in the wrestling hotbed of Ohio, “The recruiting process begins again.”

Before choosing Iowa State, Taylor was considering Ohio State and Oklahoma State; however, with Sanderson moving just one state to the east it is very likely that Penn State is now also in contention for the young Ohio star.
