NBC Sports Tour De France 2013: TV Schedule, Daily Listings and Coverage Info

Ethan GrantJun 28, 2013

The Tour de France is one of the most grueling, epic events in all of sports. The marathon that is the 23-day trek across the different landscapes of France will begin on Saturday, June 29, in Porto-Vecchio.

As it marks the 100th edition of the race in 2013, something special is bound to happen over the course of the 21 stages. Mother Nature will have a trial of tests to offer the riders vying for titles in the overall and specific classifications as they try to don the different-colored jerseys.

The most prestigious of those jerseys is the yellow one, given to the overall leader at the end of the day's events. Points, mountain and young rider classifications all carry a different weight, and each will be up for grabs.

As the race's official Twitter account shows, riders are arriving in droves and ready to compete for the Tour de France title:

Cycling Weekly also had this post confirming all of the starters for Saturday's opening trial:

NBC Sports will broadcast the event in the United States while ITV will carry the broadcast in the United Kingdom. Eurosport will have the feed for most of the rest of Europe while other networks offering coverage include TSN (Canada), FRANCE 1 and 2 (France) and Fox Sports (Australia).

TSM Sports had a useful post on the different television networks pitching in to provide round-the-world coverage.

Bradley Wiggins is the defending Tour de France champion, but he won't be around to defend his title after withdrawing from the race earlier this year.

Winning the Tour de France is no easy task, a reason why no one has won consecutive races since Lance Armstrong, who was forced to vacate his seven titles. Before that, Miguel Indurain won his fifth straight Tour crown in 1995.

As we march toward what should be an exciting three weeks of action in France, here's a comprehensive look at when and where to catch the different stages of the 2013 Tour de France
