Chelsea Transfer News: Edinson Cavani Would Improve Blues' EPL Title Hopes

Chelsea reportedly have a deal with Edinson Cavani, which has improved the club's English Premier League title hopes.

On Tuesday, Jim Daly of The Mirror reported that Napoli's official radio station broke the story:

We have received news in the office from a very reliable source that Napoli have sealed a deal with Chelsea for Cavani's sale.

"

Napoli reportedly reached a deal with Chelsea worth £49.3 million. Manchester United was reportedly offering more, but Chelsea has landed the forward.

It was a big day for Chelsea. They were able to sign Andre Schurrle to a five-year contract, via Chelsea FC's official website.

With Cavani also reportedly in the mix, Chelsea are taking a big step in the right direction.

The Blues already have a talented roster. Fernando Torres, Juan Mata and Oscar are just a few of their talented players. Now they will have even more talent to work with.

Chelsea is looking for their first EPL title since the 2009-2010 season. Bringing in Schurrle and Cavani makes them one of the teams to beat next season.

Cavani led Serie A with 29 goals in 34 games and added four assists. He scored 38 goals in the 2012-2013 season for Napoli.

The forward scored at least 23 goals for Napoli in Serie A in each of his three seasons, with this past season seeing his highest output. The 26-year-old is becoming a force to reckon with and can add to Chelsea's already impressive attack.

Cavani plays for Uruguay as well. He hasn't made much of an impact for his team in the 2013 Confederations Cup, but he has plenty of talent. He has three goals in World Cup qualifiers so far.

Talent can't be overlooked. Cavani can score with his feet and his head. He can come through when his team needs him, and he isn't afraid to take long shots.

Chelsea has grabbed the headlines lately, and the acquisition of Cavani only enhances the club's chances of winning the EPL next season.
